Governance at Aquila

Our Trust Board provides strategic oversight for all Aquila schools, ensuring high standards in education, finance, safety and risk management. While focused on the Trust as a whole, it delegates key responsibilities to local level.

Each academy is supported by a Local Governing Body (LGB) - a team of dedicated volunteers who work with school leaders to provide support, challenge and direction. Their role is vital in helping each school succeed and deliver the best outcomes for its pupils.

We recognise that every school is unique. Our approach balances local autonomy with clear accountability, ensuring strong leadership, shared learning and continuous improvement across the Trust.
